We will explore the scientific theory of evolution as the organizing principle of life science and what better place than the zoo! Participate in lessons aligned to NE Science Standards in middle school and learn about free resources through the Teacher Institute for Evolutionary Science (TIES).
On August 21, 2017, a significant partial solar eclipse will be visible across the United States and Nebraska is at the center of totality! Join Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium and Fontenelle Forest for a workshop where we will help you prepare to experience the eclipse with your students. This workshop will cover the science behind a total/partial eclipse, how humans and animals react, and what to expect during the eclipse. Plus, learn how to make simple and inexpensive viewing devices with your class.
