In the fall of 2019, MCC debuted the permanent exhibit Science On a Sphere at MCC North Express. The installation of the Science On a Sphere exhibit is the first permanent exhibit of its kind in Nebraska and features breathtaking visualizations of earth and space.

In collaboration with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, MCC has developed a multitude of informative and engaging SOS programs that appeal to community and school audiences.  The visually stunning display engages students by showing datasets, which seem like educational “movies” starring science textbook topics. Science on a Sphere comes preloaded with over 500 datasets ranging in length and in complexity across dozens of topics. MCC staff is able to customize programs to meet teacher and educational needs and we are in the process of developing and sharing new SOS courses on topics of global and local importance.
