Arts For All, Inc. and Fontenelle Forest present a STEAM project*. Come to Fontenelle Forest Nature Center to explore the wonderful life of Cicadas. This workshop will cover scientific information about the life and habits of that noisy, late-summer Omaha insect performer called the Cicada. After a reading of ‘Cicadas’ from Paul Fleishman’s poetry book Joyful Noise-Poems for Two Voices, students and their families are encouraged to come and create a multi-media, stylized, functional art rattle using the assemblage sculpture method. The workshop will end with a group progressive sound performance and hopefully the real cicadas will join!
