Cyber Sense: Digital Safety for Families

Do Space along with Omaha Public Library, Metropolitan Community College and Common Sense Media are hosting this family-friendly event on ways to keep your kids safe in today’s digital world. Speaker Karen Haase will join us to share her knowledge and tips on social media safety and appropriate cell phone use.

Karen Haase is a highly accomplished school attorney and a partner in the law firm of KSB School Law, where she focuses her practice exclusively on representing public school districts and related entities. Her popular presentations have been delivered to critical and popular acclaim to student and parent audiences all over Nebraska. From school-related consequences to civil and criminal case precedents, Karen opens your eyes to the reality of life in the digital fast-lane of today.

5:00-5:45pm: Common Sense Media presentation/activities

5:45-6:00pm: Opening remarks by Rebecca Stavick, Executive Director of Do Space

6:00-7:00: Karen’s presentation for older children and parents

6:00-7:00pm: OPL/Do Space storytime and activity stations for younger children
