Celebrating STEM in Omaha

A STEM Professional You Should Know:
Joe Pecha

Joe Pecha is a journeyman electrician specializing in commercial projects who has worked for Miller Electric for eighteen years. He graduated from the Apprentice program through the Local 22 electrical union and also holds an Associates degree from Metro Community College. Throughout Joe’s career he has had the opportunity to work on several exciting projects throughout Omaha including KANEKO, Offutt Air Force Base, Creighton University, and Holland Performing Arts Center. Joe takes pride in his work and always wants to see that the job is done right and exceeds customer expectations. Joe’s passion for building quality tradesman led him to teach students in the apprenticeship program for two years. He also spent many years volunteering his time and craft, helping lower income homes to become electrically safe, through the Rebuild it Omaha program. Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, coaching his son’s tee ball team and playing softball with his good friends.

Mark Your Calendar For Upcoming STEM Events

AIM Institute’s Heartland Developers Conference (#HDC2018) is a 3-day software development event in Omaha, Nebraska from September 5 to 7, 2018. At AIM HDC, national industry experts plus regional and local leaders focus on sharing the latest knowledge, demonstrate new techniques, build understanding and teach hands-on workshops.

Proceeds from the event are infused directly back into AIM’s work toward building and strengthening the tech talent pipeline across the Silicon Prairie through youth tech education at the AIM Brain Exchange and career development/programming at AIM Institute.

If you have questions about this year’s HDC, contact Dave Vankat at dvankat@aiminstitute.org.
